Hi, everyone! During this crazy time, everybody's schedules is thrown for a loop. Whether you are home from school, working from home, or simply have more time on your hands than normal, then this post is for you.

Let's make a pact together to stay productive during this feeling of uncertainty. I want to give you all some tips on how to remain a sense of normalcy and stay on track with your goals ... from home.

Here are some of my tips on how to start your morning off right from the comfort of your own home!

Tip 1: Make Your Bed

As soon as you wake up, I recommend getting out of bed and start being productive. I try to avoid using my phone first thing in the morning, because if I do, I can lay in bed for hours. Even though we may have the time to sleep in later than normal, we should still maximize the time we have each day.

Wake up, get out of bed, make your bed, and even open up the shades to give a bright & fresh look to your room.

Tip 2: Shower and Practice Cleanliness

Even though we may not be going to class or attending face-to-face meetings, it is important to stay clean and presentable to make ourselves feel our best. A simple shower can do wonders. I am not asking to put on a full face of makeup, but maybe practice some new skincare you have been wanting to try out.

I recommend taking a shower, brushing your teeth and putting on a nice moisturizer to start your day. This is good for the soul!

Tip 3: Get Dressed in a Presentable, yet Comfortable Look

Make sure you put on clean clothes every day! It truly does help the flow of productivity when you wear clean clothes and a matching outfit. Even if it is matching sweatpants and a sweatshirt, it still is a good feeling to feel put together. If not for anyone else, do it to make yourself feel good!

Tip 4: Stick to your normal routine AS much as possible

Try to incorporate as much as your normal routine as possible. Whether it be, having your morning tea, taking out the dog, or practicing 10 minutes of meditation ... stick to the normalcy you are used to. It will help avoid some anxiety of all the change that is going on around the world.

Tip 5: Make a Fancy Coffee or Breakfast

Since you have more time, allow yourself to get fun with your morning coffee! Whether it be trying out homemade lattes, or adding new spices to your drink, get fun with it! Or even make a trip to the drive-through Starbucks to get out of the house! :)

Also, do not be afraid to make new breakfast recipes that take longer than normal! You have the time, so now is when you can experiment!

Ideas:

- overnight oats

- protein pancakes

- smoothie bowls

- açaí bowls

- breakfast sandwiches

Tip 6: Separate Your Work Space ... Stay Organized

Make sure you have a designated area where you can sit down and focus throughout the day, whether it be to attend meetings or do school work. Try to avoid the kitchen (may attract mindless snacking), and make sure this space is ORGANIZED.

Keeping your space tidy will improve your productivity levels and help maintain a sense of ease when trying to get tasks done.

This also goes for a workout space! Get creative with a spot for at-home workouts!

Ideas for Desk:

- water bottle

- note pad

- pen

- laptop & charger

- comfy chair

Home Workout Equipment:

- bands

- dumbbells

- yoga matt

- step

Tip 7: Stay Social

Even though we may not be able to hangout with our friends and family in person, make it a priority to talk to your loved ones on the phone, via FaceTime or text. Checking up on the people around you are important. Maintaining connections may be harder than normal, but you have the time to put in the effort!

Podcasts are also a great way to stay social during this time. While working or cleaning, play a podcast in the background to help create the feeling people are around you and in the background. Podcasts can help productivity, generate emotions and create a sense of comfort when alone.
